Hays ‘Employer of Choice for Women’

For the eighth consecutive year recruiting experts Hays have received the EOWA Employer of Choice for Women (EOCFW) citation. Hays is the only recruitment company and one of only 95 organisations to receive this prestigious award in 2010.

“The ‘EOWA Employer of Choice for Women’ award allows us to show current and future staff that we genuinely believe they are valued assets,” said Nigel Heap, Managing Director of Hays.

“It shows we act in the interest of their engagement, career development and work/life balance. The citation is recognition of our programs and practices, and leads to higher attraction and retention of top talent. That’s why we place such significance and meaning on attaining the ‘EOWA Employer of Choice for Women’ award each year.

“Like most organisations, keeping employees motivated and inspired during the challenging economic conditions of the past year was a challenge. But we invested very heavily in training and development. In fact we tripled the amount of training provided to our staff last year.

“This increased investment ensured our talent was suitably equipped to deal with a tough year, and demonstrated our commitment to retaining our talent. We were pleased to be able to offer flexible work arrangements to some employees such as part time hours, job share and the ability to work from home. This flexibility greatly assisted employees to balance their work with family responsibilities,” he said.

At Hays:

  • 60% of all staff are female
  • 52% of Managers are female
  • 62% of part-time staff are in management positions
  • 15% of part-time staff are in senior management positions
  • 3 out of 8 members of the Board are women
  • Of 28 women currently on maternity leave, 3 have had their 12 months of leave extended
  • 53% of participants in our Management and Leadership Development Programme are female
  • 55% of participants in our Senior Management Development Centres are female
